Construction estimating across Australia: preconstruction does not have postcodes

Every state, three ways to use us, and an off switch.

Latest off the desk: Aspect Hub, a 1,475 sqm community facility.

It features a multifunction room, a commercial kitchen, training and assessment spaces, and a brand new streetscape.

That is one job off the desk. It is also a fair example of the work: a defined building, a defined program, and a date to have it priced by. All of it gets measured the same way wherever the site happens to be.

Construction estimating in Australia is normally described by where the estimator sits. We would rather describe it by when you need the work.

Did you know we are national?

Because preconstruction does not have postcodes. We have serviced every state across the country.

A drawing set reads the same in every capital and every regional town. What changes is the deadline, the delivery method, and how much of the design is finished.

Preconstruction work is documents, measurement and phone calls. None of those three care which state the job is in.

Three ways builders use us

  1. A BOQ by Friday
  2. A cost plan for feasibility
  3. A contract estimator closing tenders alongside your tendering team for the next 4 weeks

The first is for the week the tender is due and nobody has measured it yet. The second is for the stage before anyone has committed, when the question is still whether the job is worth doing. The third is for the month your own tendering team is short.

That is us. One of those, or all three on different jobs in the same month.

On when you need us, off when you do not

Costimate scales up with you, and quietly disappears when you do not need us.

Builders. Subcontractors. Developers. Turn us on. Turn us off. That is the deal.

That is the whole arrangement. On for the tender, off once it is submitted, on again for the next one.

When we are on, the work is the same in every state: the scope written out, the risks flagged early, and the clarifications that go with the number.

If your next tender is in a state we have not worked in this month, it is still the same work. Send the set and the date you need it by.
